I received a call today from our sister Sophia Lee who was taken to the ER for a severe headache. Fortunately, her CAT scan did not find anything wrong but they recommended she see a neurologist. We need to pray for Sophia and her well being.
In the book of James 5:14-15 it records:
14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;
15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.
We see in this passage that we are encouraged to pray for the sick. In fact the leaders of the church are called together to pray for the sick and anoint the sick with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer we offer for the sick must be in faith as any other prayer offered but it is up to the Lord how He will restore the sick. Somehow even sickness causes us to draw closer to God and bring family and friends closer.
I pray that God will be with Sophia tonight so that she would rest and that God's healing touch and peace be upon her.

We should be encourage to pray for the sick. I was reading; (Isaiah 53:1-5)which saids, "Who has believed our message and to whom has the are of the Lord been revealed? 2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. 3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him striken by God. smitten by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed." Everytime, I read these Verse, I just Cry, Cry, and Cry. Christ not only took all our sickeness away but even our sorrows. I even read these in (Psalm 103:1-4) "Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. 2 Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits 3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion." These are sobering passages when read the whole chapter in Isaiah 53 and Psalm 103. I pray that we reflect what God did for us on the Cross in order to make us whole. This something every Christians need including myself.
Here is a Question for all of us as Christians: What are we conserned with more keeping the people in the Church or Reaching out to the lost World? What is more important. Luke 15:1-32 and Luke 19:10 is the heart of God. Let's share the love of God with those who are lost in this world.
